A native of Lexington, Madeleine has practiced law for over twenty-six years – eight years as a solo practitioner. She has a lifelong love of words and how they can help us understand our world. She studied English and journalism as an undergraduate before attending law school. Both degrees are from the University of Kentucky. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Madeleine has enjoyed many and varied community volunteer activities. She is the immediate past president of the Lexington Opera Society’s Bravo Guild and serves on the Board of OperaLex. She served for several years on the Advisory Board of the International Book Project and the Lexington Board of Visually Impaired Preschool Services. She was the first woman president of the Lexington Lions Club.
She is an active member of The Church of St. Michael the Archangel, where she sings in the choir, chairs both the Endowment/Planned Giving and Hospitality Committees, and serves on the Financial Vision Committee.
She loves theatre, reading, cooking, baking wedding cakes, and entertaining small and large gatherings of friends and family. Her three children are grown, but they share their adventures with her, just as she shares hers with her parents.
